At the beginning of the year I made a little pact with myself to try and expand my creativity in areas outside of photography and with a little bit of luck I might find a way to bring some new skills back into my work. I was pretty stoked when I saw that the amazingly talented Emma from Lumiere Art + Co was hosting a Frisky Deer workshop on abstract painting and signed up straight away.
Emma went through the design process with us and gave us lots of tips and direction when needed, aided by coffee and cake goodness (next-level Profiteroles and killer banana cake by the talented The Sometimes Baker!) from the Frisky cafe. I'm quietly confident that I didn't miss my calling as an abstract painter, but I had so much fun and looking forward to giving it another go at home. Looks as though Emma will be back again for future workshops so keep an eye out on the Frisky Deer website for upcoming workshops and get yourself some mad skills!
